King Valley Cider Co…
…is named for the geographical region in which the company was founded, the King Valley, situated in a fertile river valley in the shadows of Mt Buller and Mt Buffalo in North East Victoria. Historically the scene of tobacco and hops growing, the King Valley underwent a sea-change in the 1980’s and 90’s when the government began discouraging tobacco growing. This decision led the many Italian farmers to return to their roots and begin growing Italian grape varieties for wine making. Decades later the region is renowned for producing Italian varietal wines such as Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Pinot Grigio.
The King Valley is also renowned for its picturesque alpine ridges and valleys. With so many high quality wines being produced in the region, and countless gastronomic delights and outdoor pursuits on offer, the King Valley is fast becoming a popular destination for weekend get-aways. It is a region full of picturesque beauty and passionate people – people passionate about what they produce and about sharing the fruits of their labours with the world.
